AMBASSADOR CARDOZO MANALO LUNA PRESENTS LETTERS OF CREDENCE TO HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN OF THE NETHERLANDS

Ceremonial royal tradition marked the presentation of the Letters of Credence of Ambassador Cardozo M. Luna to Her Majesty the Queen of the Netherlands on Wednesday, 26 August 2009 at the Palace Noordeinde in The Hague. Ambassador Luna, his spouse, and the Embassy officers were brought to the Palace Noordeinde in 2 horse-drawn carriages (lower left photo).
 
  Upon arrival at the palace grounds, the military honors to the Ambassador started with the playing of the Philippine National Anthem followed by the inspection of the Royal Guards.

The Ambassador and his entourage were led inside the Palace to sign the Royal Guest Book followed by the presentation of the Letters of Credence to Her Majesty Queen Beatrix.

Her Majesty the Queen invited the Ambassador to a private meeting to discuss bilateral matters between the Philippines and the Netherlands.

 
The Ambassador gave his assurances to Her Majesty that relations between the 2 countries will be further strengthened during his term. After the ceremony, the Ambassador and his entourage were brought back to the Embassy were a small reception was held. Toasting remarks were exchanged between the Ambassador and the Chamberlain of Her Majesty the Queen Mr. G. Vlieghuis (right photo), the Palace representative who accompanied the Ambassador and his entourage during the ceremony.
