Economic Relations with The Netherlands

PHILIPPINE ECONOMIC RELATIONS
WITH THE NETHERLANDS

In 2005, Philippine total trade with the European Union (EU) grossed $10.73 billion or 12.1% of the country's total trade. Among the EU member-countries, Netherlands was RP's top trading partner with a total trade of US$4.44 billion or 5.0% of EU's total trade. Receipts from exports to the Netherlands was worth US$4.03 billion while payment for ipmorts was $407.38 million, resulting to a trade surplus of US$3.62 billion.

In the year 2006 (January-November), The Netherlands is the largest export market of the Philippine in Europe (accounting for 10.26% of the total exports) and the third largest in the world after the U.S. (18.23%) and Japan (16.65%).

DUTCH VISITORS TO THE PHILIPPINES

There were 17,128 Dutch visitors to the Philippines in 2006 from a total of 15,367 visitors in 2005. This registers a growth increase of 11.5% of Dutch arrivals in the country.
