“Philippine Impressions and Unmistakably Holland”
of Filipino Artist Manuel D. Baldemor Caps Off The Hague PE’s Celebration
of Philippine Independence in The Netherlands

Ambassador and Mrs. Romeo A. Arguelles lead the opening of “Philippine Impressions and Unmistakably Holland”, theme for this year’s exhibition by renowned Filipino artist Manuel D. Baldemor (center) on 14 June 2009 at the Raadhuis “De Pauuw” in Wassenaar, The Netherlands. They are joined by Senator Rein Willems (right) and Drs. Eva Mennes (left)at the ribbon-cutting ceremony formally opening the exhibit.
The exhibit of UNICEF artist Manuel D. Baldemor was the highlight of the Philippine Independence Day Celebrations of The Hague PE. The exhibition held at the historical Raadhuis “De Pauuw” from 14 to 18 June 2009 featured 37 paintings by Mr. Baldemor portraying Philippine and Dutch Landscapes. The opening of the exhibit was attended by more than 150 guests from the diplomatic corps, Dutch government officials, Dutch, and Filipino communities.

Mr. Baldemor has been commissioned by the Basilica of St. Therese of Lisieux in Normandy, France to paint the mural of the famous shrine. The unveiling of the mural is tentatively scheduled for October 2009. Proceeds from the painting exhibition in The Hague will go to the funding of Mr. Baldemor’s mural project in Lisieux.
